A Lakeland, Florida man has been arrested and charged with felony battery after authorities say he bit off the tip of his girlfriend’s finger during a domestic dispute. After the arrest it was determined that the man, 31-year-old Apolinar-Guerro is not a U.S. citizen.

According to the police report, the couple were boyfriend and girlfriend and were at a party when they began to engage in a verbal argument. During the argument, the suspect grabbed the victim by the head then grabbed her hand and bit off the tip of her finger.
She was admitted to the Lakeland Regional Medical Center where her finger was successfully reattached. Authorities said the victim didn’t want to go to a domestic abuse shelter.
