PURCELL — Two weeks after a McClain County mother and her two children were found dead inside their burned home, prosecutors have filed murder charges against the man accused of killing them.
Friday, McClain County prosecutors filed three counts of first-degree murder and a single count of first-degree arson against Shaun Michael Bosse, 27. Bosse has been held at the McClain County jail without bond since his July 23 arrest, according to court records.
Prosecutors allege in the charges that Bosse took a knife and stabbed to death Katrina Griffin, 24, and her son Christian Griffin, 8. Katrina Griffin’s daughter, Chasity Hammer, 6, died from injuries when Bosse allegedly set the trailer house on fire, according to the charges.
According to a court affidavit that accompanied the charges, Dibble and Washington fire departments were sent to a house fire at Griffin’s home at 8:59 a.m. July 23. Crews found the bodies of Griffin and her children inside the trailer on Oklahoma 39 about 10 miles west of Purcell.
The affidavit stated that the State Medical Examiner’s office reported the cause and manner of death for all three victims on July 29. Katrina Griffin was stabbed eight times. Two of the stab wounds were fatal.
The affidavit reported Christian Griffin suffered five stab wounds. Four of those wounds were fatal.
Chasity Hammer suffered smoke inhalation and burns, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit stated McClain County Deputy Dan Huff called Bosse on July 23. Bosse agreed to come to the McClain County Sheriff’s office and talk with Huff.
According to the affidavit, Bosse told investigators that he had dated Katrina Griffin for about two weeks. Bosse said he spent the evening of July 22 with Griffin. He left Griffin’s home between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. July 23.
Huff noticed a long scratch on Bosse’s right arm, according to the affidavit. Bosse’s knuckles “were red, slightly swollen and showed signs of trauma.”
The affidavit stated Bosse was released and returned home to Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation officials said agents arrested Bosse in connection to the deaths later that day at his Oklahoma City apartment.
Earlier this week, Bosse’s court appointed attorneys filed a motion to request a gag order, according to court records. District Judge Candace Blalock issued a gag order in the case Monday
